The Story
Each colour is printed with its own carved block, so the pattern builds up layer by layer across the cloth. Slight shifts in colour and alignment are part of its character, and no two pieces are exactly alike.

How It Was Made
From carved block to finished cloth
Carving the blocks. The pattern is hand-carved into wood, one block for each colour.
Preparing the dyes. Colours are mixed from natural sources and tested on scrap cloth.
Printing by hand. The cloth is printed one impression at a time, then washed and sun-dried.
